After a 170 km drive from Milano - Malpensa, starting in 35°C, the first overnight stop is Sirmione, a small and charming town on the south shore of Lago di Garda. The castle marks the entrance to the old town. It is situated on a peninsula jutting far out into the sea. There are also ruins of a large Roman villa here.
